This entry-level, sales assistant position is full time and includes great benefits. The primary function is supporting the sales team with day to day customer service and sales related tasks. The Sales Assistant will also be involved in long-term projects. The environment is fast-paced and demands quick thinking and calm execution while always keeping the best interest of the farmers and customers in mind. Hours will be 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. Must have an appreciation for farmers and our local food system.


Principal Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Answering incoming phone calls, entering sales orders from phone calls and emails, responding to emails and voice mail.
  • Maintaining pre-order spreadsheets and other sales related and order documents.
  • Monitoring and updating active orders. Act as liaison between warehouse team and sales team for order updates and necessary customer communication.
  • Assisting walk-in customers with questions, sales orders and processing payments.
  • Creating and organizing sales and supply reports to share with the team.
  • Marketing support including sign making, social media collaboration and execution of events.
  • Responsible for maintaining purchase orders to vendors and entering standing sales orders.
  • Administrative tasks including but not limited to: maintaining and filing office forms, laminating, and scanning of necessary sales documents.

Work Environment

The job operates in a professional warehouse/office environment.  This role routinely uses technology equipment such as computers, projectors, and conference lines.  Additionally, this position works within the community to attend meetings, lunches, dinners, and events.


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and climb stairs.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.


This job does not require any travel but there is potential travel for events, etc Less than 5%.



Preferred Education and Experience

Food and Beverage industry experience a plus as well as knowledge of local food systems.

College degree is preferred but not required.

Other Duties

Other duties may be required in the job as requested by the General Manager.
